As the Turkey Chase comes to an
end, I must say that Joe was very successful at the indoor event. Of the six
races that he entered, Joe won 3 of them and placed 2nd, 5th & 7th in the others to close out the 2006 season. Joe had quite a
payday, taking home $1,040 in prize money. The Optima was definitely the Kart
to be on and Bogdanovich Racing would like to thank Uncle Frank’s 4 cycle
racing specialists (Ralph Woodard, Lee Miller and Kevin Mulder), Swiggart
Racing (Brad & Garrett), Bill Hilger, Dan Fay, Brad Hoffman and Rick Bogdanovich Jr. for all the help that made us so competitive. Also, we
would like to thank the Kosiski family for putting on this event. We felt that
since it was the first of it’s kind in this area and that they had never
attempted anything like this, everything really did go very well. We wish the
Kart count could have been better, which I’m sure next year it will be.
Overall, it turned out to be a great weekend and we did not have the long drive
home.
Now as we get ready for the 2007
TULSA SHOOTOUT, Joe will be competing in one of the toughest races in the
country. The turnout is always amazing and the competition is even better. Joe
will be racing in three classes: the Junior II class, the Junior Animal class
and the Junior Unrestricted class. The dates for this race are the 28th of December thru the 30th of December
Joe will debut on the 2007 Optima.
This Kart has several changes from the 2006 and looks to be even faster. With
the seat adjustments, the bearing in the steering block, and the adjustable
steering shaft, these few changes will make the 2007 Optima that much better
than it was. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and will
update the results as soon as we get back from the Shootout.
