January 2008 News

As the new season kicked off Tulsa had its share of ups and downs, Joe entered 6 classes and was only able to make two features.  Blue Wazoom and Animal Heavy were the two features that he made.  Again we struggled early but felt that by the time the features came around that we might have figured out what was wrong.  In the Blue Wazoom feature Joe started 18th and within a couple laps had made his way up to 9th when he ran into trouble in turn #1 a kart in front of him spun and Joe had no room and spun also. This was so disappointing since we had all the early trouble in this class.

Next up was the Animal heavy class which Joe had to come thru the Consolation race to transfer in the A main, Joe started 17th in this race and within a lap and a half he was up to sixth passing for fifth when he got hooked up with Russell Hunt, this would take him out and things look so promising early on.  Oh well that’s Tulsa.  Overall it turned out to be a great trip and lots of fun.  We can’t wait until next year nothing like it.

Now for the 08 season here is what Joe will be doing for the year.  Joe will be running for points at Wavelink Raceway Park this year in the Stock Medium and Blue Wazoom classes, also on the schedule will be the Mid-America speedway series which will take us too many different tracks located in the Midwest.  1st stop will be Lasoski’s in Warrensburg, MO, the 2nd stop will be Semo Valley this track is located in Sikeston, MO. Joe attended the Coca-Cola classic at this track last year and could not remember any race that was colder than this one, the temperature was 30 degrees with 30 plus winds making it a miserable week-end, the 3rd stop will be at Thunderlake speedway which was Joe’s home track when we lived in Kansas City so many years ago what a great facility, the 4th stop will be Cottonwood speedway in Waterloo, IA. Which he has never been but heard great things about it, and the last stop will be at the Fairgrounds speedway in Winfield, KS.  This sounds like a great series and Joe will be attending it this year.

Also in 08 Joe will be racing in the K.A.R.T.  Nationals in Wakeeney, KS.  We could not make this race last year but look forward to it this year.  Another series that Joe will be racing in is the Midwest Speedway Tour with all the sponsors in line and the tracks still have not been determined we will be waiting to see what they have in mind.  We will not miss this tour but hope that it continues since it has been going for so long.

Before we go any further Joe would like to thank all the sponsors for the 07 season and the upcoming 08 season.
Uncle Franks Four Cycle Specialist – Ralph Woodard and Lee Miller thanks for all the support and help to make such a successful season could not have done it without you guys again thanks for everything.
